Lauren Good Day creates Indigenous art, from beadwork to tribal regalia and quillwork. She has won many awards and participated with great success in some prestigious art shows. Her wearable art collection is a modern take on traditional designs that feature geometric patterns and vibrant colors.

Ah-Shi Beauty offers a full range of cosmetic and skin care products. Founder, Ahsaki Chachere created the brand to display the diversity of indigenous people through quality products. Ah-Shi is a Navajo term for saying something belongs to you. 

Quw’utsun’ Made is an indigenous-owned apothecary. Arianna Johnny-Wadsworth created it in 2016 to share the Coast Salish Nation’s ancestral knowledge. It sells all kinds of personal care items including natural perfumes, soaps, and salves. All the products are cruelty-free and the packaging is sourced locally. 

Travel

Air Creebec is a Cree-owned regional airline. It offers commercial, chartered, and medical flights. The headquarters are in Waskaganish Quebec and it also has bases and hubs in various other places. The company is fully indigenous-owned and more than a third of the employees are Native.

Food

Little Miss Chief uses a unique brining method to cold-smoke fresh salmon in white wine and spices. Thermally processing the fish means they don’t need refrigeration until opened. Ellen Melcosky of the Esketemc First Nation is the president and CEO of the company.

Bedré Fine Chocolate creates luxury chocolate and coffee using traditional recipes in the heart of Chickasaw country in Ada, Oklahoma. The Chickasaw Nation bought the company in 2000 and moved to the factory it currently occupies in 2011. The brand supports various non-profit organizations in the community. 

Business education

Sister Sky Inc. offers Native entrepreneurs empowerment workshops. Sisters Marina TurningRobe and Monica Simeon of the Spokane tribe started the company. The workshops are led by indigenous women and offer training and technical assistance. The business management services also include research and evaluation, administrative support, and logistics.

Website design and hosting

Native Design Services offers web design, hosting, and technical support to indigenous organizations, entrepreneurs, and nonprofits. It guides clients through creating their websites. They are helped to quickly and smoothly establish an online presence using web starter kits.

Various native-owned businesses offer engineering services. Metcon is North Carolina’s largest minority-owned construction firm. The company has operated in North Carolina since 2000. It has developed from a small local general contractor to offering full construction services. Its appreciation for the environment and focus on sustainable construction is true to the Native American culture.
